Week 3

Usability

1. Consistency

- easy recognize

- example: Adida, Strava, AirBNB 

2. Simplicity

- imagine users have 0 knowledge for using apps and simplify everything for them

- 5 seconds rule

3. Visibility

- not more than 4 colour

Group exercise

1. Research about Taylor's navigation system, sinage

2. Ideation: Brainstorming kiosk design, sketch idea and focus on students

Week 4

1. BISD Pathway

- introduction on central portal 

- programmes structure

- module information

- free elective & minor


2. UI Design principle

- To produce user friendly and enjoyable interfaces

- 3 main UI: Voice controlled UI, Gesture-based interfaces, User interact with visual representations

- UI visual elements: line, shape, colour, form, texture, space

- 6 principles of UI design: Clarity, Flexibility, Efficiency, Invisibility, Instant feedback, User control


3. Group project 

We separate the job by different topic, like I was given directory for my part. Our first meeting is about discussing what function should be included and we need to do research about different education apps and kiosk, find out the strength and weakness. 

The second meeting, we separate the task and do the prototype. The below pdf is my prototype.
