Week 12, 13 & 14: Project overview

Week 12

Me and Rou Xun already discussed about what function should the application has, so Rou Xuan has finished the wireframe for now and also started to do UI Design, since I'm more focus on 3D and Spatial design, while Rou Xuan focus on application design, she does the most part of the design while I am more on giving suggestion.

At first. the UI design is more bright and cheerful due to the light colour template. I suggest changing to a dark tone, or we can have light and dark mode for the apps. I also suggest a few applications for inspiration and references because I do an education application UI design report before. I suggested Blinkist, Brainly, Quizlet and programming application like Programming Hub, Mimo and Sololearn. These are all more to dark tone, sci-fi and futuristic design application which is what we needed in our application design. 

I fixed most of the contents needed in the application because I am doing the user journey. For example, like lab booking, club introduction, committee member, achievements, facilities introduction, research reports, chat function, posting function and etc. So, after fixing these, Rou Xuan start on the wireframe and UI design. 

Then, for the design process, I continue giving opinion like what font should we use, what colour should the logo has, what kind of button shape should we use, where do we put the buttons and etc. So, all these, we choose together when we meet up or in class. 

For the report, I fixed the introduction, objectives, problem statement then add in my user journey by following the suggestion given by lecturer. 

For the metaverse, I add in signage to introduce each space and tell the user what to do. I also add in information like articles, research, reports about the mystery creatures on the screen. Every screen has different information, the user can sit or stand in front of the screen to read it and look at the pictures. 

Week 13

I created the final project presentation slides using Canva. Some of the information were already prepared before in the last design concept presentation. So, I add in the information like introduction, objectives, design concepts and more. Then, I add in the new 3D modelling and also application design from introduction to user journey, the design part and future implementation is handled by Rou Xuan.
