Week 1

During the first class, lecturer give us course and assignment briefing. In this course, we are to learn Adobe Illustrator and use it to do our assignment. We need to have Adobe Illustrator before next week as we will start the learning lesson soon. I already have some basic on Adobe Illustrator, so I hope that I can do well in this course. 

We joined the WhatsApp group, the Google Classroom and we also filled up the Google Sheet, to give our basic information and e-portfolio link which will be reviewed in the future. Our session is taught by Mr. Hafiz Zamri. From the briefing, I know that we will be creating several artworks using Illustrator, with given art style and our work will not only be reviewed by lecturer in Taylor's University, but also lecturer from other university, from other country. 

In online lecture class, we have briefing again for the whole course and assignment. For e-portfolio, Mr. Hafiz mentioned that if we did use AI for some of our work, like for inspiration, moodboard and such, we need to credit it in our e-portfolio, or else it will be seen as plagiarism. 

Assignment brief:

Assignment 1 - Character Design 

We have 3 weeks to finish this assignment; lecturer will teach us about the tools in the adobe Illustrator to create the design. We will use this character for our next assignment composition and final assignment. It is a very important element.

Assignment 2 - Composition

We are to use our character and create a composition artwork. Basically, we are to add in surroundings, maybe wordings, more elements with the composition rules which will be taught by lecturer to create a nice composition artwork. 

Assignment 3 - Sequential artwork

From what I observe, it looks like a short comic.

Week 5

1. Artboard tool

- use it to add artboard

- to change artboard name

- to duplicate artboard

2. Expand appearance

- use it so the preferences of line or shape won't be changed

- for example, if your line has set for different thickness, different stroke pattern and etc, you need to apply expand appearance. Or else, if you use live bucket paint, your line stroke will be change to deafult settings automatically.

Composition

- We need foreground, mid-ground and background to create depth. 

- Adding lighting, shadow and colour will add more depth for it. 

- The darkness/lighting of the different layers will help to create the depth

- Composition helps the art looks

- Composition and background is different

- We can have the same background but different composition

Task 3

- Honor Competition

- Have both animated design and overall composition

- We can choose a theme from given theme

- But we only join the accessories design

- We need to create a character, environment just like task 1&2

Week 11

In this week, we learn to add sound into website. First, We search for sound online and download it. We then import the sound into the library. We ae trying to create a button sound, so we need to create a simple button. We add the sound in the 'down' keyframe. Then, it's done. 

Then, we are to add a background music using the file given by lecturer. After we open the file, we import all the elements into our own working file. We change the instance name of the button into player0, we then copy the script and put it into the play button action. We then insert the song at the play button. I encounter a problem which the music won't stop even I press stop. 

If I have a new music to play, the only thing I need to do is to change the linkage name. 

If use only one file, if one file corrupt, I have to start again. If I create multiple pages, if one page corrupted, the others are still fine. Remember to name the first file as index. 

If have separate file, the first file needed to be save as index. After creating different files (different pages), add URL into the button (if want to go homepage, then add the homepage URL to the home button). Need to add script into the button, (add a layer, add script), choose mouse click down. All buttons need to be in every page, with the same script. Remember to publish the pages after doing so.
